Home Sweet Home

Hello everyone! I'm back from a satisfying family holiday in Ohio.  I've missed you all.  Here's a nearly complete sampling of the presents I made for everyone.  The goal was usefulness, so I zeroed in on trivets and bookmarks:

A mountain in Nevada, taken through the train window:

And this is Agnes, sight-seeing on the way home after spending the holidays on the farm with our dear friends.
Happy New Year dear readers!

  1. Welcome back! I love that photo of Agnes looking out the window. And the so soft colors in your trivets. You must take time now to rest and restore from your travels! xo Kari

  3. Hi Kari! Oh it's good to be home...the wonderful part of the train is that it is restful...like being in a bubble away from everything. This time obligations awaited me immediately but thankfully, today looks more hopeful in terms of restoration...a trip to the gym even, some stretching. I've been eating mostly peanut butter for 3 days, so a little food shopping is in order too!

  4. Hi Catherine! They were fun to make, and were well received, which doubled the pleasure. I know I shouldn't count on that, but it's awfully nice when it happens...

i, too, love to travel by train. unfortunately, it doesn't occur much since i moved to montana years ago. we have no passenger trains nearby any longer. there is hope this may change. all things do.

so happy your journey was pleasant!

  6. Hello Joe...thank you! It is rather astonishing that so many places are unconnected by rail, but, like you, I have hope that this might be one of the changes that our need to be more frugal may push forward...Glad to hear from you!
