Here is a finch in the apple tree. That is an apple blossom petal in its mouth.
This is Gilly in the apple tree...in pursuit of the squirrel. She got there by herself; it's about 4 feet off the ground. Trying to get down she slipped, but did some kind of crazy flip and landed on her feet.
Voila: the ipad cover...front and back:
(I used some fabric from Glennis and Eva, my grandmother's shawl and an old skirt.)
Here is my completed experiment in asymmetry:
And because I enjoyed doing that one so much, I started another:
Well, I better go now, there's a very sleepy puppy on my lap. Happy New Moon to you...
What a pile of work! Spring is obviously getting to you and to Gilly.
ReplyDeleteI really like to see traditional patterns with a little twist to liven the eye. And I love the wild blue horse.
Hi Elizabeth...suddenly I've become so aware of asymmetry everywhere...particularly in the way things seem to happen, with the unexpected cropping up just when smooth sailing is becoming so comfortable, so dependable. Gilly is adding a happy dimension to all this!
DeleteGilly in the tree is hilarious. glad she is ok. love your ipad covers.
ReplyDeleteHi Deanna, thanks! Yes, I really was afraid she was going to have the wind knocked out of her when she fell. I wish I'd gotten her little twisty motion of righting herself in a photo, but it all happened Very Fast!
DeleteLovely buzzing bees ánd that little horse (ofcourse ;-) !) on the Ipad cover ....
ReplyDeleteSweet Gilly ! Fun on the puppy training !!!
Hi Els, glad you stopped by...we just returned from our first puppy class together...kind of steep learning curve (for me!) but I love the idea of Gilly being well-behaved ultimately. I never had the time to work on it with my other pups.
DeleteSuch happiness in this post, Suzannna, which makes me so happy for you...and Gilly, too!
ReplyDeleteChristi, thank you! We're having a good time and learning together...tuning in to our companionship...
DeleteOh, yes those bees are really buzzing.
ReplyDeleteThat ipad of yours is going to feel so good in that protective stitching.
Love that Gilly!
Hi Penny...I like how the ipad cover turned out...there was quite a bit of cutting and re-doing. I kept in mind Jude's term 'design mending"...
DeleteLook at all this wondererfulness! Gilly is just adorable.
ReplyDeleteShe is a happy little pup! Right now she is re-arranging the back yard...
Deleteoh, you've got a new dog! She is so sweet! I wish you lots of happiness with her! what a cute dog, so glad she's home now, with you.
ReplyDeleteLove your I-pad cover.
Hi Sandra, tomorrow she gets to go out for walks because she'll have her last shot...it will be fun to watch her interacting with the larger world. She's quite friendly, so I worry a bit about the big dogs, but we're learning a lot in puppy school about how to manage things...thanks for visiting!
