The first time I had a puppy, the rest of the household was so chaotic that I had little time for training, and no memory now of how we managed. But this time, being older and maybe a little wiser, I want to be aware of the process. So far we're on a 2 hour schedule for trips outside during the night. I hear a little whimpering and I grab the leash and the pup and out we go. Oh the sleepy drowsing, but she's getting the idea! Last night the full moon watched us through the bamboo:
When morning came here's what caught my eye, framed in the wicker chair:
And here's Gilly, after a good day of back yard exploration (one week anniversary):
Happy Easter and Passover and all celebrations that are happening today...

Suzanna...That little Gilly is adorable! You just took me back to when my RP's were pups and we would do exactly the same....take them out day and night...and accompany them to keep the coyotes away. If you ever need a dog sitter bring her up here!
ReplyDeleteOh that would be fun! I can imagine her romping around with the rusty pups! We still can't walk around the neighborhood because she hasn't had all her shots yet, but I'm looking forward watching her respond to life on the larger scale...she very much loves sitting on laps...I'm wondering how big she'll be...
DeleteShe's a little sweetie, do you have "puppy school" over there where they get to mix with other pups and you learn a bit about training.
ReplyDeleteHi Kaite...yes, we start next week. First I have to go by myself for an orientation and then the next week we meet the other pups and owners and begin learning how to behave. She seems to be figuring a lot out on her own too...
DeleteHappy Easter to you and gorgous Gilly!
ReplyDeleteThank you Elizabeth! She's developed a little sniffle, but has some nice tasting medicine, so hopefully all will be well. Hope you're feeling better...
DeleteOh so sweet! I remember those days...stumbling out the door half asleep. :)
ReplyDeleteOh goodness it is hard to get out of the nice warm bed, but then I love being out in the night...especially with the moon, but otherwise just the quietness or whatever is happening. One night the sound of wings...a little spooky...
