The Mystery of the Sneaky Harvester

Yesterday, I went out to the farm in the Valley and passed a field of pumpkins, waiting to be picked:

Today, I was working a little on this:

and this:

When suddenly I looked up at the apple tree, and saw THIS lying on a branch:

Then, looking over at my beautiful sunflower, my first EVER, I saw this:

Someone has been harvesting my sunflower!  Maybe it was that cheeky squirrel who quarrels with Agnes. Or maybe it was the crow who hides out in the liquidamber tree singing strangely percussive chants.

Whatever it is, I thought I better quick put up a couple of photos of my sunflower whilst it is still partially around.  Here it is as a very very young sunflower blossom:

And here is what is thankfully still there:
Happy October dear readers.

  2. 2 hours of stitching - sounds like bliss! Your sunflowers are lovely. I'm about to plant my sunflower seeds. Hope they grow as well as yours.

  3. Hi Elizabeth...good luck with your sunflowers...they provide such a bright spot of cheerfulness. Mine was actually started in a nursery, but perhaps it will yield some seeds for next year...

  8. Just stopping by to say Hi, and I'm so glad I did as I found autumn in every image ~ perfect! You seem to have captured the essence of the season. I don't know why I thought we'd be through with our renovations by now, but it will take the rest of October and probably November. Oh, for a magic wand! Take care and Happy Halloween!! xo Kari

  9. Kari, hi! I'm glad you stopped by. Renovations always seem to take longer than one thinks...it's all worth it eventually...maybe the seeming endlessness of it increases the relief when it's done. Blogland awaits your return!

  10. I have many mysteries like that in my little corner in the woods. Squirrels, Chipmunks, Woodchucks, Crows, and many small other critters help themselves to whatever I plant.
It is nice to see what you are stitching...beautiful.

  11. Hello Mo'a...it surprises me how much can go on in a small space in an urban area. Luckily there are 2 flowers left; I'm hoping I'll be able to harvest some seeds, but am trying to develop a philosophical attitude about it all. Glad you stopped by...
